Goggle Goddesses

Well, I today I have been trying to take pictures off of our OLD computer and get them on the new (which is over a year old now!) one so I can organize and archive them (one day!) ANYWAY, this is what I came across! This adorable picture of my niece Lauryn when she was about 3 years old! (I think?) What a cutie pie! And then I remembered I had taken a similar picture of Maisie this summer 3.5 years old!

First Day Back

To Preschool! (Cedar Valley Montessori)

The kids were somewhat excited, but they seemed to be nervous too (SO normal!). They knew alot of their friends would be there, but also that there would be new kids and they wanted to know WHO these new kids would be?

The drop off went well! No kicking and screaming and crying and holding them back so I could close the door behind me like last year! Nope. This morning they had big smiles and wide eyes!

My babies are growing up! I hope they have a Wonderful morning!!

Purging

It seems that it is that time of year for cleaning out the closets! I have done that and started some purging in the toy room! Ahhhh, that feels good! I guess it must have something to do with the change in seasons and "back to school". Although my two are not in school school, (they are in preschool for another year) I did go through their drawers to eliminate clothes outgrown over the summer and pulled a bunch of very summery clothes in anticipation of the weather changing. Ahhhh, that felt good too! Donating or giving it away. I have more to do in the playroom, but I just need to do it at night or somehow when the kids are not around (so I guess that does only leave at night!!). We have too much stuff. Do we really need all this stuff? How much stuff does a person need? I think in general everyone has too much stuff!! We don't need all this stuff!

Strawberry Island

Funny! My recent posts have been about berries! Well, Strawberry Island didn't have any strawberries on it! I think it is actually a fishing spot on the Fraser River good for catching cuthroat trout, coho and sturgeon and it was a good location for an outing with the kids today. Although there weren't any strawberries the blackberries were aplenty!! Holy Smackers!

Diana said we should start a kids hiking club and I said we have a club right here! 3 moms and 6 kids!! Our little outing today was a short (1 km?) hike down this old road to beach area on the river. The kids played and played in the mud, sand, water and rocks! Who needs toys when you have nature!

Holy Blackberries Batman!

Go Local!

This morning we ventured out to Krause Berry Farms just to go out and do something and we are so glad we did! I came home with a flat of big, juicy blackberries and blueberries!! YUMMMMY!!! The kids had fun checking out the little animals there and upon Ambrose's persistent requests to pick berries we did! We all had a great time doing it and we should have grabbed more than 1 bucket as it didn't take us very long at all to fill it! Andrew and I thought the kids would get bored really quickly with it, but they wanted to keep going after our bucket was full!! Awesome! We'll definitely do that again!

I hate this! I don't blog for so long that when I do come back to it I don't know where to start!? Do I go back and try to catch up in chronological order? Ahhh, that sounds like work and I usually don't remember the little details when I try to do that! I see I have 3 draft posts sitting in my Posting box waiting to be finished and published, but they are from WAAAAAY back!!! I am just going to post them - they are only pictures, but what the heck!? Maybe that will get me kick started! Hee hee hee

We bought the kids little toy fishing rods this spring/summer and Ambrose just LOVES his! You can't do much more than cast with it which suits him just fine for now as he practices and practices!

Camping Monte Mom Style

NO! It's not Mom's doing the "Full Monte" if that is what you were thinking Monte Moms was!! LOL Monte Moms are the Moms of the Cedar Valley Montessori Students Class of 2009! Hee hee hee I have become very good friends with the other preschool moms (and teacher too!) this year and we have named ourselves the Monte Moms. We actually organized a camping trip with all of us going - 5 moms and ten kids! It was a heck of alot of work for one night in a tent, but it was worth it seeing the enjoyment on the kids faces! We all trekked out to Rolley Lake Provincial Park which has a nice campground and huge day area on the lake.
