The Plumeria bloomed!  It bloomed alot actually.  From what Andrew has been reading about the plant it doesn't usually bloom in the first year or two after you transplant a cutting so we were lucky I guess.  The flowers were gorgeous and SO fragrant!  Smelled like Hawaii ☺

I ran 10K!!

May 31st I did the Run For Water 10K Run!!  I ran with my friend Gillian and actually had a great time!  I was very nervous as I have never done a "real" event before. And I wasn't even sure I could do the whole 10K, but I really just didn't let my mind go there.   I knew I could do 5K for sure and I would just have to do that 2x.  Well I did it!  I was dying the last 1K and had to run/walk it, but still................ I did it!!!  Yep.  Very proud of myself.   

Boy Gets Buzzed

Tonight Ambrose had his very first hair cut with the clippers!  For the past 3 1/2 years I have been cutting his hair and the last couple of times I really didn't do a very good job.  Yes, the hair was shorter, but the shape was all wrong.  His hair is getting so thick that I am finding it hard to get some shape to it and let's not forget the fact that I don't know HOW to cut hair!!  LOL

Andrew cuts his own hair every week or so with the clippers and tonight Andrew came home with brand new clippers with cool colour coded attachments!   We asked Ambrose if he would like a haircut like daddy's and he said YES!  I think he was more interested in this Cool New Toy than actually having shorter hair, but whatever!  So before he changed his mind or his mood we threw the cape on him!

Mother's Day

This Mother's Day was a VERY EXCITING one for me!  I received my very first Mother's Day Gift made by my children!!!  Painted pots with seeds planted!  I hope they had fun making them at preschool because I sure loved getting them!!  They are very special as I will always remember this Mother's Day gift!!  Thank you to Miss M. @ Cedar Valley Montessori  www.cedarvalleymontessori.ca

This and That

I remembered a couple of things I wanted to post about a while back!   Maisie tried to shave her face like Daddy and cut her lip (2x) with the razor!  I had no idea this was going on and was quite surprised to find her in OUR bathroom!  The kids never go into our en-suite bathroom!  They just don't.  I probably have told them not to at some point, you know because I keep all the medicine stuff in there, but they just have never gone in there.  Anyway, I couldn't find Maisie and was calling for her and then I heard whimpering and she came wandering out of our room holding her mouth.  I took her hand down and I saw blood, but couldn't tell where it was coming from.  After wiping her mouth I could see two lines in two places above and right on her upper lip.  Boy did that bleed!  It took a long time to stop!  She said she was trying to shave like daddy!   Isn't this what my son is supposed to be trying??

Ambrose told me one day, "Mommy, you don't need to tell me nuffin', cuz I already know everything'."  I thought to myself, "Is that right?!" "Well, I guess my job is done then!!"

Update on the Plumeria:

The leaves are growing!  (taken last week)

Something else is growing!  Could it be a flower???  From the reading Andrew has done they say it takes about a year to bloom (when growing a cutting), but that all plants have their "own" cycle or personality.  So curious to see if this is more leaves or what!?

Gobs of Goo!

I made gobs of goo for Emily and Wyatt a couple of weeks ago on one of their daycare days here, but I hadn't done it for Ambrose and Maisie in a LONG time!  I have only done it once before for them and they didn't like it much as  Ambrose didn't want to get his hands yucky.  They had no problem getting hands yucky this time though!!  I love it!

Plumeria

Andrew brought a cutting from a Plumeria plant back from Hawaii in February and has been trying to get it rooted and growing.  It has been a bit of a painful process for him and we have encountered some set backs (such as Maisie ripping it out of the pot when it had JUST started rooting tiny delicate roots!), but it looks like it is growing now!!  And doing well!  The warm weather we have been having sure has helped it.  As you could have guessed, it needs heat!  I need to take another picture because it has grown so much in the last week!  I was having a hard time imagining what this plant was going to look like as a tropical house plant so I had to go online and find some pictures.  In Hawaii they are big bushes, but ours is just a stick right now!

Easter Cont'd

Cindy (my sister) and the girls came to mom's to visit too!  I didn't get one picture of Carsen looking up!!  I cannot get over how the girls have grown and changed!  I guess she might think the same of my kids!  ☺

and made a Superhero cape for both Addie and Carsen.

I think I like sewing!!!  

Easter

The kids and I went up to 100 Mile House for the Easter weekend.  We left Andrew at home to tackle home renos without disturbance.  The weather was pretty nice up there although there was still snow lying around and the ice was still on the lake. 

Easter morning the air was chilly and the wind was frigid!  The Easter bunny worked fast to hide all of the goodies outside!  The kids seemed quite excited to discover that the Easter bunny had come to Nanny and Guido's house!
